Tropical Storm Gaston Floods South Carolina

South Carolina (HDW) September 2, 2004 - Tropical Storm Gaston brought extensive flooding to South Carolina, North Carolina, and Virginia after barrelling ashore with 60 mile per hour winds on August 29, 2004. This true-color image was acquired just after Gaston came ashore near McClellanville, South Carolina.
Gaston brought up to ten-foot floods to parts of Virginia, cut power to over 64,000 residences, collapsed at least one building in Richmond's historical district, caused damage extensive enough to condemn 20 city blocks, and caused the deaths of at least five people across the state.
